Lolita

I know, it’s a paradox, she’s less nude than some of my other nudes, but she turned out like this !  I tried to make the difference in the “essence”.

It was interesting to make this piece, but right now I’m very “taken” by another idea, which I hope will soon produce more pieces

This piece is inspired by a marvellous stock photo (donors exclusive) from my favorite model Ida where she was featuring a renaissance gown, some  decorations I have been working with in the restoration job, and by a book I have read long ago. Even though it was so long ago, the part speaking about the Liquor of the Fairies always enchants me, and comes back to make me dream and want to paint it.

I have also added a new (provisorial) gallery with all the works from 2010.

It was fun because I don’t think my works are oriented towards the subject of eros at all. It’s true that I have occasionally painted some nudes, but in my opinion (and intention) they are very innocent nudes, deprived of all erotic content.

I am aware of the fact that some sites consider erotic the sole view of a nipple, no matter the meanings of the image, and that some sites “flag” my website as “mature” (!!! °_°) but in my opinion to characterize an image as “erotic” there should be some other requisites, like a certain type of  intention and a certain type of “content”, which I almost haven’t explored at all so far (simply because I was not interested in this “niche” subject, I’m more oriented towards children to be honest).

But well, I’m considering the idea of taking part in the contest with a new, single piece made expressely for this show (if I have time….) but still I’m not sure if it interests me enough.

Mi ha fatto molto piacere scoprire quanti  amici sono pronti a sostenermi (grazie!) e sono rimasta sorpresa nel vedere persone che non conosco  interessate a quello che faccio.
